Later in 2002, the Michigan CHOICE Advisory Council will launch a statewide awareness and education campaign to advise consumers of the Electric Choice program.
Eventually, as the market begins to develop, you will be able to obtain a list of Alternative Electric Suppliers (AES) from which you may choose to take service.
When the time is right to choose, you may want to learn how to compare prices offered by AESs with the price you currently are paying. The portion of AEP's price that you will want to compare will consist of the price for generation service, Power Supply Cost Recovery (PSCR) and Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) service. Please remember that these charges will be itemized on your monthly electric bill.
At present, there are no licensed AESs who are registered to offer services to AEP customers. You may, however, view the entire list of AESs licensed in the state.
