Choosing a New Supplier
Effective Jan. 1, 2002, you can choose the company that supplies the electricity
you use. There are several types of competitive service providers and buying
groups.
Competitive Service Providers (CSPs) include companies that supply electricity as a retail generation provider. They also include aggregators. An aggregator is a person, local government or organization licensed by the SCC that brings together a group of customers and negotiates the price and other details for electric supply service on their behalf.
