Price to Compare
Price to compare is the price you can use to compare offers from new suppliers.
It is for generation, fuel factor and OATT transmission services only. In
order for you to save money on a kilowatthour basis, a new supplier must
offer you a price lower than your price to compare. Keep in mind that, in
the future, your total bill will vary from your past experience based upon
such things as differences in temperature and changes in household consumption
patterns.
You may obtain price to compare information from AEP in three different ways, keeping in mind that the figure you obtain from any of these sources should not vary significantly from one another:
- Current month price to compare information appears on the monthly bill of residential and small commercial customers. This information is provided as a guideline only and may vary slightly month-to-month based on actual usage.
- Average price to compare for your customer group (PDF : 53 KB : get viewer) may be the best source of price to compare information for larger business customers. To more accurately reflect the cost of fuel used to generate electricity, AEP's Virginia customers have new prices to compare effective January 1, 2006.
- You may calculate your specific 12-month average price to compare, which should be accurate for your account as long as you input the correct information.
If you have questions about your price to compare, please contact AEP at 1-888-707-4237.
