Virginia Electric Choice Information for AEP Residential Customers
The Virginia State Corporation Commission, with input from investor-owned utilities including AEP and other market participants and interested parties, has established customer protection rules. These rules cover a variety of topics such as contract provisions, rescission periods, payment plans, bill information and marketing guidelines. For example, customers initially can choose not to contract with a new competitive service provider. Instead, they can continue to receive supply service from AEP at rates that are capped until some time between Jan. 1, 2004, and December 31, 2010.

No matter whom you choose to provide your electricity, AEP will continue to deliver that power to you - safely and reliably - through the facilities and equipment already in use.

The following pages provide information that will help you learn how to make informed decisions about your electricity service. For additional information, please contact Virginia Energy Choice at 1-877-YES-2004 (1-877-937-2004) or at www.vaenergychoice.org.
